Chosen as a public art piece, decorating a Hydro box in Niagara on the Lake next to the Shaw Festival Theatre.
Artist Statement
Many different paths have informed the art I create. I took Fine Arts courses at the University of Calgary and UQAM (Montreal). My travels to places such as Mexico, Turkey, Kenya, India, Italy, Morocco, and Greece have undoubtedly influenced my colour palette. I continue to learn, taking workshops, conversing with other artists, and challenging myself to risk new directions.
In recent years, I’ve developed my art, incorporating stones, recycled metal, sea glass, and words and images, often of my other artworks. When I am in the creative mode, I feel awake to the environment that surrounds me. The biggest challenge in art—perhaps in life—is to move ahead confidently.
In 2021, I became part of the Niagara on the Lake Arts Collective: a group of professional artists, curators, and galleries.
